From grape selection through to bottling, you can engage as much or as little as you desire in the process of winemaking. We present you with every opportunity to be involved in the crushing, fermentation and blending.
CHOOSE
Start the process with a consultation with our winemakers where you choose the grapes for your wine according to your tastes and desires. We offer a wide range of grapes and juices from wine regions around the world, both old and new.
CRUSH
To extract the essence of the grape – you can participate or you can leave it to us.
FERMENT
The grapes or juice begin to ferment in temperature-controlled Italian stainless steel fermenting tanks. For red wines, the, maceration comes into action – which is the time the grapes are left in contact with their skins. This widely determines the character of the wine. Maceration is a technique employed during fermentation to extract colour, tannins, vitamins, and anti-oxidants from the grape skins.
RACKING
Transferring the wine from tank to tank, a process known as racking, leaving unwanted sediments behind in order to start clarifying the wine.
BARREL
For those wines benefitting from oak aging Vin de Garage offers a choice of French, American or Hungarian oak barrels. Our winemakers will suggest specific barrels and aging times considering the varietal, the vintage, and your tastes.
STABILIZATION & FILTERING
Our artisanal concept brings us to employ minimum treatments for our wines. We prefer to use stabilization through physical means – racking and filtration – as opposed to resorting to chemical processes which many commercial wineries use.
PACKAGING
As the wine takes on its more familiar form, you can call it your own. We offer a choice of bottle styles, corks and capsules and labels.
